A detailed hand-colored engraved map of Alsace (Upper and Lower Alsace) and surrounding regions. The map is oriented with West at the top (Occidens), East at the bottom (Oriens), North to the right (Septentrio), and South to the left (Meridies). The Rhine river runs horizontally across the lower half of the map. Landscapes are illustrated with shaded hills, forests, and numerous fortified towns and villages. The map features decorative elements including two coats of arms at the top, a large ornate title cartouche in the upper right corner, and a scale cartouche at the bottom. Regional borders are highlighted with hand-colored outlines in red, yellow, and green.
