An engraved, oval-shaped map of the Lordship of Mechelen ("Mechlinia Dominium") set within a rectangular frame. The corners of the frame are decorated with elaborate foliate scrollwork. The map is oriented with West at the top. The frame contains directional labels: OCCIDENS West at the top, ORIENS East at the bottom, MERIDIES South on the left, and SEPTENTRIO North on the right.

Inside the oval, a cartouche on the left side bears the title "MECHLINIA Dominium" Lordship of Mechelen. Below it, another smaller cartouche contains a distance scale. The map depicts a detailed landscape with rivers and numerous settlements indicated by clusters of buildings and place names. Mechlinia Mechelen is located near the center of the map. The phrase "Cum Privilegio" With Privilege is printed at the bottom center, just inside the oval border.
