A detailed, hand-colored engraved map of the Jutland peninsula (modern-day Denmark). The map shows the four historical dioceses: Aalborg, Viborg, Ribe, and Aarhus. To the left (west) is the "GERMAN SEA" (North Sea) and to the right (east) is the "CODAN GULF" (Baltic/Kattegat) and the "LITTLE BELT." The top features the "Commonly SKAGERRAK." A decorative title cartouche in the bottom-left corner is flanked by figures including Neptune and other mythological or pastoral characters. A scale cartouche at the top center is held by a cherub and a figure representing Fame or a messenger.
