Simon Magus, whose name has left a memory there, Peter was called to Rome to put Simon to shame and to help the oppressed Christians. Before St. Peter traveled from Antioch to Rome, he appointed a governor in his place; whose descendant (in a successive line) is the very same who rules in the East and bears the name of Catholica; being chosen for this high office by the twelve cardinals in Armenia, etc.

Upon this, the Roman Catholic author makes this remark: Everyone can see that this is false. For Christ has but one Bride, whose figure is the Christian Church. Outside of her, no salvation is to be hoped for. All that one says of others is fable-work. I say this, therefore, so that no one may dare to deviate from the strength of the Rock, which is Christ. They confess like the Roman-minded; and also receive the Sacrament in that way.
Holy water.
They have no holy oil; but instead of that, they bless the bodies. When they go into their churches, they sprinkle themselves with consecrated water, just as is customary among the Roman Catholics.
