A detailed, hand-colored engraved map of Southeastern Europe and the Balkan Peninsula, focused on the Kingdom of Hungary and its surrounding principalities. The map covers territories from the Adriatic Sea (Gulf of Venice) in the west to the Black Sea (Black Sea) in the east, and from Poland and Ukraine in the north to the Aegean Sea (part of the Archipelago) in the south. The various regions are highlighted with different watercolor tints in pink, yellow, green, and white. Significant regions labeled in large script include Transylvania, Moldavia, Walachia, Bulgaria, Romania (identified as the ancient Thracia), and Bessarabia. In the bottom-left corner is a large, decorative title cartouche featuring a pedestal topped with the map's title text. To the right of the pedestal stand two figures in contemporary 17th or early 18th-century European military or noble attire, with a large cannon and various weaponry lying on the ground in the foreground. The seas are labeled with both contemporary and ancient names. A compass rose is visible in the Black Sea. At the bottom center, there are graphic scale bars for Hungarian, German, French, and Italian miles.
