A detailed hand-colored engraved map of the Lordship of Utrecht and surrounding territories, created by Nicolaes Visscher. The map depicts topographical features including the Rhine, Lek, and Vecht rivers, numerous canals, polders, and settlements such as Utrecht, Amersfoort, Rhenen, and Naarden. The Zuiderzee is shown to the east, and the Haerlemmer Meer is partially visible to the northwest. Administrative boundaries are highlighted with red, yellow, and green outlines. In the upper left corner, an ornate decorative title cartouche is surmounted by a coat of arms held by three cherubs. It is flanked by allegorical figures: a reclining river god with an urn and an oar to the left, and a standing female figure with a staff and a cow to the right. In the lower right corner, a scale cartouche is decorated with maritime figures, including a triton blowing a conch shell and a mermaid holding a horn. The cartouche contains four scale bars.
