To the left is the province of Friesland, and to the east is East Frisia (Germany), separated by the Dollart bay. A large allegorical cartouche in the bottom left corner features a seated female personification of the province holding a shield with the provincial coat of arms. She is accompanied by two cherubs and a kneeling soldier or knight offering a shield. Maritime elements like an anchor and barrel are visible at her feet. A separate decorative frame in the bottom center contains a formal Latin dedication. The map is bordered by a degree scale.
