A detailed engraved map of the Holy Land (Canaan) and the Near East, depicted as a scroll unrolled against a background containing 22 circular medallions. Each medallion illustrates a scene from the life of the patriarch Abraham. The map shows the Mediterranean Sea (Great Sea), the Nile Delta (Egypt), and various tribal regions and cities of the Levant. A smaller inset map at the top left shows the route of Abraham's journey from Ur of the Chaldeans to Canaan. An ornate cartouche at the top center contains the title, and another at the right center contains a dedication to Jean Mouffet.
