Also, that blood which flows much through the anus with much excrement indicates that some small intestine is ulcerated, but for this reason, pain around the navel precedes its excretion. But if it is discharged as a small amount with a small amount of excrement accompanied by a griping of the belly, it signifies that some part of the large intestines is affected by an ulcer. Of these, if it is the colon, a stabbing pain fatigues both sides of the belly, and the bowels are exonerated without great effort.
