Also, intestinal excrements fallen into the scrotum, and retained there, signify an affection of a volvulus intestinal twisting/obstruction, through which a fetid vomiting is excited, sometimes smelling of human feces. Furthermore, suppression of urine signifies a fault in the kidneys, or the ureters, or the bladder: but if urine is suppressed by a fault of the kidneys, severe pain exercises the loins: the entire abdomen swells, and the face. For as often as urine cannot be pushed to the ureters because of the weakness of the kidneys, it flows back into the cavity of the peritoneum membrane lining the abdomen, and invites dropsy. And if urine is repressed because of obstructed urinary paths and ducts, pain extending to both sides of the belly as far as the pubic bone afflicts the patient. Urine is also suppressed by long-lasting vomitings, and copious sweats, for the reason that it flows back from the kidneys and ureters to the stomach, or the constitution of the whole body. Finally, urine is suppressed by burning fevers, and even by delirium, and great fluxes of the belly.
