A printed identification label from the State Archives of Geneva is affixed to a worn, wrinkled paper cover. At the top of the label is the heraldic emblem of Geneva: a shield featuring a dimidiated eagle and a key, surmounted by a radiating sun containing the monogram "IHS". A ribbon below the shield bears the motto "POST TENEBRAS LUX".
