...scripture for the? definitive sentence in matters regarding the benefices of parochial churches, ...for? the writing of a single chaplaincy, twenty solidi; for the writing of a sentence of absolution, or ...or? even an absolution from a petition and request, twenty solidi; for an insertion, ...four? solidi; for the writing of others of these in civil cases, from thirty florins downwards, [receive] ... solidi, and from thirty [florins] down to fifteen, twelve grossi; and from twenty florins, but let him receive only [that amount] and no more for the writing of any institution to a benefice with the care of souls, three florins; and for the writing of the institution of a chaplaincy, twenty grossi; for the writing of any decree of a newly founded [benefice], twenty grossi. And so that the institution may be done at once, let him not exact more than forty solidi; ...for the writing? of any letter of privilege for clerkship, acolyte, subdiaconate, diaconate, and priesthood, ...grossi? let him receive, excluding the seal; and for any dimissory letter, four grossi, excluding the seal as above. The tax for examinations and the method shall be observed as written above.
¶ Furthermore, we establish and ordain that our sworn secretaries, both of the officialate and of the temporal court, shall receive for their writings no more than what is written in the prior, ancient statutes.
Tax of the writings in the audit regarding the duty to collect
¶ We establish and ordain that our sworn officers are bound to collect [the fees for] private formats and the work for the same ...done by them? regarding our [matters] within three years, or at least they are bound to [show] diligence... first.
¶ The secretary and scribe of the court of appeals shall not exact for their writings more than what is contained below. First, for the writing of any citation including the introduction of the appeal, two solidi; and for each memorial described in the acts, twelve denarii; and for each folio of a copy, written on both sides in a decent manner, twelve denarii; for the writing of an interlocutory [ruling], four solidi; and for the writing of a definitive sentence, ten solidi; for the writing of apostles, four solidi; and for the writing of letters obtained upon a matter adjudged, twelve denarii. Let them observe the method, tax, and form of the examinations as is noted above.
¶ Item, we establish and ordain that for the writing of a citation emanating from our judge of excesses at the instance of our fiscal procurator, and upon the interest of the party of that same court, he shall not exact more than six denarii; and for the writing of any other citation, three denarii; for the writing of certain other letters, namely of default and other subsequent [documents], let him receive one solidus; for the writing of any memorial, the same amount; and for the writing of any folio of a copy, described on both sides, containing lines, one solidus; for the writing of any response to be made by an investigated person, including [the] sureties, if he provides caution in one joint [response], two solidi; if, however, separately, one solidus; and for the response, the same amount. Item, for information to be taken within the city at the denunciation of a party, for each witness examined, they shall receive three solidi; if, however, they are taken elsewhere, as at the instance of the fisc, two solidi for each witness; if, however, such information happens to be taken outside of this city, let them receive for each witness six solidi, including the expenses of the commissioner examining. For the writing of an absolutory sentence in favor of an investigated party at the denunciation of a party, even from the instance of the fisc, if it shall have been definitive, let them receive ten grossi. If, however, this sentence be a simple release, up to nine interpellations, four solidi; and for the response of apostles and the writing of the same, four solidi. The bearer of letters of this kind from the judge shall receive nothing except as is noted in the statutes of the officialate.
First, for the writing of a citation obtained upon a rescript of complaint or in its Decorative drop cap 'P' with floral and foliate motifs. form for us, together with the insertion of the rescript, let them receive four solidi; and for the writing of other citations in which no privileges are inserted, for each, two solidi; for the writing of a citation which is made upon conservatories in which no privileges are inserted, let him receive one solidus; for an absolution, let them receive two solidi and no more, even if more [people] be named in the same, whether it be done purely or for a time.
