The third manner is this: If anyone has a benefice with care or without care, and as soon as his grace has met with effect, the first benefice which he obtained by petition becomes vacant, unless he made mention of such obtained benefice in the petition for his grace of expectation.
The fourth manner: If anyone has a benefice with care and afterwards has petitioned for a grace for a benefice with care or without care, another person can petition for the first by the clause "hoping it to be vacant," and as soon as he obtains the other benefice with care, that second person shall have the first, and even if in the meantime he should resign by reason of this occasion, and [it would be vacated] by no other [way] whatsoever, unless by death.
¶ Likewise, if anyone has a benefice on account of which he is bound to cause himself to be promoted to holy orders within a year, and if he has not caused himself to be promoted after having had peaceful possession, such [benefice]
