¶ Item, if there are expectants in the diocese and a benefice falls vacant during the month of the Pope, the Ordinary cannot confer it within a month after the vacancy, and this is on account of the Pope’s annulling decree. But if it has not been accepted within the month, then after the month he can confer it, and thus it is valid.
First, let the impetrant have the names of the benefices in writing in his collation, and at the time when he wishes to accept, let him approach a notary, having in his hand a schedule in which the names of the benefices stand, and presenting it, let him say: “Lord Notary, behold, I accept whatever benefice by virtue of my expectant grace and the apostolic letters drawn up concerning the same, and the processes.”
