Therefore we beseech you, O Lord our God, that in sanctifying this creature of salt, you may sanctify red cross symbol it, and in blessing it, you may bless red cross symbol it, so that it may become a perfect medicine for all who receive it, remaining in their bowels. ¶ Here the infant should be named by the godparents and the priest should put salt into the mouth of the infant and say:
