and that he may be entirely freed by the grace of God from all the harmful sins of the past, let the servant of God offer thanks to the eternal God, and may he bless His holy name for ever and ever. Amen.

¶ Third exorcism.

I exorcise you, unclean spirit, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, that you may depart and recede from this servant of God, N. For He Himself commands you, cursed and condemned one, who walked with His feet upon the sea and reached out His right hand to Peter as he was sinking. Therefore, cursed devil, etc.

¶ Here the priest shall touch the child's head with his hand, saying this prayer:

Eternal and most just piety, I beseech You, Lord, holy Father, almighty eternal God, author of light and truth, look upon this servant of Yours, N., and deign to illuminate him with the light of Your intelligence. Cleanse him and sanctify him. Give him true knowledge so that he may be made worthy to approach the grace of Your baptism. May he hold firm hope,
