¶ The blessing of the baptismal water when it is not blessed at the proper times and a child is to be baptized.
I exorcise you, creature of water, in the name of God the Father + Almighty, and in the love of Jesus Christ + His Son, and of the Holy + Spirit. May every power of the adversary, every incursion of Satan, and every phantom be eradicated and put to flight from this creature of water, so that it may become a font of water springing up into life everlasting, so that whoever is baptized out of it may become a temple of the living God, and the Holy Spirit may dwell in him, for the remission of all sins.
Through Him who is to come. ¶ Prayer.
Graciously hear us, O Almighty God, and mingle Your power into the substance of this water, so that he who is to be washed through it may merit both health and eternal life.
Through Christ our Lord.
¶ Then let him pour chrism into the font in the form of a cross and say:
May this font be sanctified and made fruitful in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
May our Lord Jesus Christ absolve you. ¶ Or may He spare you. ¶ Or while there is a greater delay. ¶ May Almighty God have mercy on you and forgiven, etc.
Then, with the intention of absolving as much as he can and according to the authority committed, let the absolution be pronounced. ¶ Absolution from sins.
