Here begins the order of the Romans for visiting and anointing the infirm, and upon entering the house, the priest shall say:
Peace be to this house and to all dwelling in it.
Graciously hear us, O Lord, The Lord be with you. Let us pray. Holy Father, Almighty, everlasting God, and send the grace of Your visitation to the offices of our humility, so that whose dwelling we enter, You may make a mansion in their hearts. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Then let the seven penitential psalms be read with antiphons, which may also be read on the way while going from the church to the infirm person. Ps.
O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your fury, nor correct me in Your anger. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled. And my soul is troubled exceedingly; but You, O Lord, how long? Turn, O Lord, and rescue....
