An architect must be of great spirit, not arrogant, but approachable, fair, and faithful, and without greed. He must not be covetous, nor should he have a mind preoccupied with receiving gifts, but rather he should guard his own dignity with gravity, by maintaining a good reputation. When asked, he should undertake his duties, not ask for them himself.
