The image shows the front cover of a leather-bound historical volume. The cover is made of light-colored vellum or pigskin, featuring a blind-tooled border with floral corner ornaments and a central floral/foliated stamp. The spine shows raised bands characteristic of early modern bookbinding. At the very bottom edge, the date "1546" is faintly visible, impressed into the material.
