The second region was called the Quercetulana or Coelimontana. It begins after the Palatine, toward the West, that is, from the temple of Saints John and Paul, and extends toward the East to the Quercetulana Gate, or the Coelimontana and Laterana Gate. This region contained more illustrious sites: the Hostilian Palace, the Temple and Portico of the Claudii, and the Castra Peregrina barracks for visiting troops, where the church of the Four Crowned Martyrs is said to be now. It also contained the public arsenal, where the church of Saint Gregory is now, along with the ruins beyond it.
