Bible.
that the books of the prophets and apostles were inspired by the holy spirit, and contain nothing false in themselves, nor anything impure or profane, but that everything in them is holy and undefiled. Furthermore, Bible means the same as if you said "Books." For the Bible consists of the books of the prophets and apostles.
Canonical scripture.
It is named canonical, as if you said "regulated." For a canon rule is a rule. There was, however, in that primitive church of the prophets and apostles, a rule and judgment and indeed even a testimony from the holy spirit concerning the genuine books of Scripture and the spurious ones: so that those which were certain to have been written by the prophets and apostles themselves, as antiquity had handed down attested, not without revelation and the testimony of the holy spirit, were called Canonical: therefore, since it is certain from the testimony of antiquity, and has always been believed, that those books of our Bible were published by the prophets and apostles, they are most correctly called Canonical.
Authentic books.
Those same books are also called authentic, as if having sufficient authority and faith from themselves and indeed from the testimony and judgment of the holy spirit, however much no authority from elsewhere may be added to them. For we believe the scriptures without any contradiction: as when we hear something from them that we must believe or to which we must act.
