I. Recite for me some testimonies of Scripture from which I may understand that those things which you recited were handed down and confirmed by God himself. R. There are many testimonies of the unity of God in the divine books, but that one is most clear: "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, God is one." Deut. 6:4 Likewise: "You shall have no other gods before me." Exod. 20:3 And among Isaiah, God himself cries out: "I am the first, and I am the last, and besides me there is no God." Isa. 44:6 Again: "I am God, and there is no God beyond me, nor is there anyone like me." Isa. 46:9 There are almost countless testimonies of the distinction of persons in the holy Trinity, but those are the most clear, that in the baptism of Christ the Lord, the voice of the Father was heard, brought down from heaven over Christ, which said: "This is God is one and three.
