If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or just want to say hello — we’d love to hear from you.

Those were once called heretics who taught against the articles of the faith and Christ, and were accustomed to twist the sacred scriptures elsewhere than where the perpetual tenor and proportion of the doctrine of the prophets and the Apostolic senate contend. What do we teach against the articles and Christ? Where do we not prove things asserted with sacred scriptures? Where do our things depart from the prescribed tenor? You should have clearly shown such things first, and clearly convicted us with the holy Scriptures, and if we were unwilling to obey the teacher rightly, then finally you could condemn us and our books, and proscribe us as heretics in the whole world. We are not so hard and devoid of shame that a sentence rendered with good and deserved right would not terrify us, and that our hearts, conscious of evil, would not fall. But you could never show from the sacred scriptures that we are held by any warned wicked error. But you inculcate your decrees and the dreams of the Fathers (for it is manifest that the ancient fathers often erred, and indulged their own feelings much more than the liberty of faith and sound doctrine allows), which no pious man could or would wish to rely upon. But because we look only to the honor of Christ, and we exhort all peoples to approach Him, those who desire to be freed from harms and to obtain life, and those who desire to flee far away from your false indulgences.
