TO THE FOLLOWING BOOK OF REPETITION.

ALTHOUGH the matter of the two natures in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior—and specifically of his human flesh remaining in its own property even in glory, and therefore not being present everywhere—has been most diligently and clearly explained throughout all ages, including our own, by the various and abundant studies of pious men both ancient and modern, by the grace of God, to the Church of God, the boastful contention of certain individuals today (who, out of a desire to win and to defend what they have once asserted, obscure even the simplest truths) causes many good men, especially the simple-minded, to stumble and be offended in this cause. They affirm that they no longer know what is simple, ancient, apostolic, and orthodox in this matter, especially since each of the parties brings forth the apostolic writings and the consensus of the ancient Church on their own behalf and asserts that their own opinion is the truest and best.
Therefore, for the sake of these people, and for the defense of evangelical truth, and for the detection and refutation of error, both of this present time and of similar errors budding forth today, and finally to the glory of our sole Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who sits in his true flesh in heaven at the right hand of God the Father, I shall set aside all contentious and thorny past disputes, and I will explain with the simplest narration what is the true and sincere prophetic, evangelical, and apostolic doctrine of this matter, and how variously this has been, for six centuries, imperfectly? and...
