To deny Christ as the only-begotten Son of God from the Father, and in the Spirit of God to cast out demons, to sin finally and voluntarily, to crucify the Son of God finally, and to persevere until death in ruling transgressions without true repentance and conversion to God, is a sin that is only of the wrath of the foolish, because it is irremissible. For to the elect, all sins are forgiven freely by faith on account of Christ; but to the reprobate, they are not forgiven, but kept to be punished in hell.
We baptize infants offered to the church in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit on account of the command of Christ, and by the example of circumcision, which the Apostle compares with baptism. Rom. 2, 3, 4; Col. 1, 2; Eph. 2, 4.
Just as it is impossible for universals and natures or genera to exist outside of particulars and individuals, for the sun to exist without a ray, a seal without a character, the wise without wisdom, a father without a Son: so it is impossible for one sole Deity, infinite, eternal, omnipotent, creator and preserver, to be adored without the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, as it is said: I am Iehoua Jehovah, there is no other God besides me; I am in the Father, and the Father
