Furthermore, even if this name were not removed from them by Scripture, one could still call into doubt whether they have drawn their origin from the true lineage of the Jews original: "Iudæorū prosapia". In their long exile, they have been driven from their homes so often that they cannot even possess records and traces of families and tribes distinguished into their own classes. I would certainly be led by this reasoning to call them Ishmaelites, Edomites, or Egyptians instead. These people can likewise boast of father Abraham, since the sons of Ishmael were born from his own flesh and received Jewish ceremonies, just as the Saracens Muslims and Mahometists followers of Muhammad do today.

Since the destruction of the Jewish kingdom, 1534 years have passed. During this time, they were partly scattered to all corners of the world, and partly destroyed in certain places to the point of annihilation. Therefore, it does not seem likely to me that any remnants of the true Abrahamic stock survive. I would sooner believe them to be squatters and people born from the defiled seed of Ishmaelites, Saracens, or Edomites, since, as I have said, their families are not contained in any records distinguished into certain classes. If they were sons of Abraham, they would at least produce works worthy of their parent, which are, however, most foreign to their nature and character. Furthermore, the fact that they have not only abandoned the Levitical law of Moses is an argument that they are unworthy of this title.
