If the pain has not even ceased, the extreme remedy is to burn the tooth so that it becomes drier and falls apart, either with a glowing iron or by inserting a caustic, namely aqua fortis nitric acid.

Finally, for the stupor of the teeth (which is like a certain new sense), chewed purslane contributes peculiarly, which takes this away as if in a moment. When we are destitute of it, the eating of fresh cheese provides the same, although it finally vanishes of its own accord.
