Therefore, it pleased me to dedicate this, such as it is, to you, most Ample man, so that a solemn argument of my observance, faith, and love toward you might exist, by which the attested grace of your merits and of a mindful spirit might shine forth more intensely with public light, and the expectation of our duty, once excited, might not fall with a clearly frustrated outcome.
