In like manner, the Senatusconsultum ceases to apply if a woman of full age, after a period of two years—to be counted from the time of the first intercession—has confirmed the prior security, pledge, or intercession.
For after this time, she begins to be bound more by her own obligation than by that of another, since through more frequent reflection she could have escaped it.
Since, therefore, not weakness of judgment but constancy appears, the Exception is not denied contrary to equity.
Rather, let her blame herself that she did not make use of her benefit.
A woman also, receiving something from the debtor in exchange for her intercession, is excluded from the Senatusconsultum to the extent that she has received it.
Finally, by favor of liberty, as also of dowry, it is more correct that the Velleianum ceases to apply even in the case of any female stranger.
When the woman has been released by the Senatusconsultum, a Restitutoria action is available to the creditor against the former debtor.
