But who is so blind as not to understand that this whole thing is a mere and impudent calumny?

For this gluing together, like that of two boards, is not even some physical mixture or conjunction, but a naked and mere apposition.

But who among us has been so ignorant or incredulous that he ever dared to define, or even to compare with such a thing, the personal union of the two natures in Christ?

A union or gluing together of two tablets certainly does not constitute any natural or essential unity, nor any third mixture. No one, therefore, ought to compare that with the union of Christ, as it surpasses every natural composition by a very long interval.
