Not rarely, these same people also take evils for good and seek them out, as when they seek the peace of the world and false goods; they desire a divorce between the Cross and faith; they withdraw their hand from the rod of God; they desire to receive crowns and triumph before they have struggled; they remain silent about the dangers that are accustomed to accompany the profession of truth; they redeem the favor of atheistic men by the offense of God.
However, in this great infirmity of ours, it must be a solace to us that the Spirit of truth amends and corrects our errors; that He so illuminates our minds that we at last learn to distinguish correctly between good and evil, to keep everything in its own place, and to take utility from adversities, not following the intelligence of the flesh, or a blind leader, but having the intelligence of the Spirit as our counselor.

Full of solid consolation is that internal and external Consolationis συστοιχείωσις correspondence/alignment of consolation. For what the servants of God say on the outside in the ordinary liturgy of consolation to console those who mourn, the Paraclete Spirit announces to the heart on the inside and seals it with His earnest money.
But even if the external minister is absent from a pious man laboring under sickness, as often happened to the holy martyrs dwelling in the squalor of prisons and in shackles, yet that holy Paraclete is never absent from them, without whose divinity πρὸς τῇ χορηγίᾳ in the provision/supply, the commiseration and solace of all men would be of no avail.
