APPENDIX.
Everything considered, it is far more useful for the people to communicate under only one species; indeed, it is also more in agreement with the institution and precept of CHRIST.
XLVI.
And there are two things that ought to persuade all true Catholics and prudent men that the Church does not deny the chalice to the people without most just reasons. One is that the Prelates of the Churches otherwise obtain no temporal advantage from it.
APPENDIX.
In this place, the Sectarii sectarians who preach speak foolishly and plainly against ecclesiastics, especially those who otherwise do not spend their lives in extreme poverty without the sacrifice of the Mass.
XLVII.
The other thing that ought to move one most here is that this institution was approved by the most holy and infallible authority of that same Church in Ecumenical Councils, after the most accurate discussions and deliberations of Doctors of the whole world.
XLVIII.
Finally, to this doctrine regarding the use of the Eucharist, we add that CHRIST himself certainly also received his own body and blood in the Sacrament.
XLIX.
Likewise, that he gave his own body to the disciples and even to Judas himself, passible in itself; although indeed in an impassible mode, insofar as he gave it, namely, in the Sacrament.

To these, if the Eucharist had been consecrated during the three days of the death of CHRIST, there would have been only the body in the host and only the blood in the species of wine.
