Therefore, since, as Irenaeus says, those alone are legitimate teachers who are placed by God to teach in the Church; and furthermore, only those ought to be considered placed by God who are sent by divine disposition to teach, and are most worthy of faith among all, even among the unlearned: I affirm without any doubt, and I do not only affirm but will most clearly confirm to you, excellent listeners, that however many teach in the assembly of Lutherans, or Calvinists, or any Sectarii sectarians whatsoever, they teach not in the Church of Christ, but in the Chair of pestilence; they are the plagues and corruption of the faith, as Cyprian calls them, deceiving with the mouth of a serpent, and artisans of the corruption of truth.
