...necessities occurring during the whole time of our Imperial and Royal Government, with such constant faith shown; as well as the fact that they most obediently promise that they will continue their fidelity even henceforth: Having sufficiently deliberated the matter; and with our knowledge and will; having also maturely called into Council our supreme Municipal Officers, Assessors of Municipal Laws, and Noble Councilors, our faithful subjects of our Kingdom of Bohemia; we, most mercifully determining the Article concerning Religion, have decreed, and for the perpetual observation of this matter, have granted and confirmed to our aforementioned obedient Princes, Estates, and faithful Subjects addicted to the Augsburg Confession the fullest security regarding all these things, by communicating these our Imperial and Royal public Letters of Majesty.
First. Since Catholics in Silesia have their own free and unimpeded exercise of Religion; in which those adhering to the Augsburg Confession are no obstacle to them, nor do they prescribe any order, but rather they ought to and wish to leave them in quiet and without impediment, to the tenor of this our Majesty and INTERDICTI, VTI POSSIDETIS ITA POSSIDEATIS interdict, as you possess, so you shall possess, in the possession of their Temples, divine worship, ceremonies, Monasteries, Schools, Parishes, Convents, Tithes, Rents, Incidentals, Revenues, and ancient Rites, just as they have possessed all these things until now and until this very day: Therefore, and so that parity may be observed in this part, we sanction and give power and right that our faithful and obedient Princes and Estates, and thus all and individual inhabitants of all Silesia—whether they dwell under spiritual or secular Princes, Barons, Commanderies, or even in our Hereditary Duchies—in Lands, Cities, and Villages, whoever embraces and acknowledges the Augsburg Confession, no one excluded, may freely, with no one opposing, exercise and perform their Religion, according to the aforementioned Confession, everywhere and in all places: In this their Religion, in the ministry of priests, and in the Ecclesiastical Order which is theirs now, or which can be introduced consistent with that confession, they may remain peacefully and quietly: No one of them, without any regard for under which Spiritual or secular magistrate one dwells or supports oneself, shall be compelled to a religion other than that which they have had until now, or be expelled on that account; much less shall they be removed AB OFFICIIS from their offices nakedly and simply for the sake of Religion: and thus in no way and by no path shall they be tormented or saddened in their CONSCIENCE: But rather, all and individual associates of this Augsburg confession may adhere to it alone, and remain in the possession of all the Temples, divine services, ceremonies, schools...
