So that neither party—namely the Catholics as well as those addicted to the Augsburg Confession—may interfere with or prescribe for the other regarding this aforementioned and granted exercise and use of their religion, ecclesiastical order, and granted rights: that the spiritual authorities should not meddle in secular offices, nor conversely the secular in spiritual ones: and much less should they greet one another with injuries and persecutions: but now, AS MEMBERS OF ONE BODY, they should love, honor, and promote one another, working together on both sides for all needs, whether personal or those of the homeland, whether it be by contributing or by suffering inevitable events together, so that they may exist as faithful friends. In sum, from this day forward, no one—whether among the Princes and Estates, or among the cities, towns, and the rural populace, whether by their own magistrates or by any other spiritual or secular person—shall be oppressed on account of religion, nor shall they be compelled or led away to another [faith] by force or by any other indecent method.
All these things and each point enumerated above, we accept, confirm, and establish by these presents, from our Imperial Royal Bohemian fullness, power, and authority. And as the supreme Prince of Silesia, we feel, posit, and, promising with our royal words, we will that the oft-named Princes and Estates addicted to the Augsburg Confession, together with the other faithful subjects and inhabitants of our hereditary Duchies and regions of that place touched upon above, for themselves and their successors, IN ALL THOSE THINGS which have been set forth above, shall be by Us and future Kings of Bohemia and supreme Princes of Silesia—until finally A PERFECT AND TOTAL CHRISTIAN UNION IN RELIGION SHALL FOLLOW in the Holy Roman Empire—entirely and perfectly constituted in peace and quiet, and, like others, preserved in the religious peace of the Holy Roman Empire: and that not even the slightest impediment shall be created or permitted in this matter to them, whether BY US or, as said above, BY ALL OUR SUCCESSORS, or by other spiritual and secular persons, in the future and for all time; much less, against such a Peace of Religion and this Our Assurance, shall any Mandate or anything of the sort, which might produce the least impediment or change, be published by Us or our oft-named successors, or be urged upon anyone to accept: and in the event that anything of the sort were published, or accepted by anyone, that it shall be considered INVALID, and in this manner and by this law, and not without law, shall anything be decreed or pronounced. Therefore, we command all our SUPREME and other Captains in Upper and Lower Silesia, that they shall protect and defend our aforementioned faithful and obedient Princes and Estates, together with all our faithful subjects and inhabitants commemorated here in Upper and Lower Silesia, who acknowledge the oft-mentioned Augsburg Confession,
