A large engraving depicts Fig. I, Observation 1. It shows a grid pattern labeled A and a numerical scale labeled B, positioned between two vertical twisted fabric or rope-like structures. To the right, another engraving shows Fig. II, Observation 1, which is a compound microscope on an ornate stand with an eye depicted above it. Fig. III, Observation 1, provides a diagram of the microscope's internal optical path and lens arrangement.
