Although some for the sake of the study of the Royal Moon an alchemical metaphor for silver/purification, but having encountered the contrary in them with love, a fair reader will come to intend it, and we wished to commend this book to him. Dedicated to your name, you most Illustrious Prince, we have added this, whatever it is of work, to be beheld, because we are students of these things and you are a most skillful investigator in searching out the secrets of nature. And so, just as other princes of old who attended to these arts of Philosophy, rather than to the proportions of one of them, we read that he applied himself diligently. Therefore, receive them with a serene countenance, and having encountered the Philosopher who aids your study, you will see that we have not been unmindful of your benefits.
