I will not extend myself to make you a
long discourse on the excellence & the
merit of these Treatises: It will suffice
to name them, to give birth in you
to the esteem that you ought to conceive for them. The
first is the Turba of the Philosophers,
different however from the two other
copies that we have of it in
Latin in the Ars Aurifera Art of Gold-making, although
similar in some things;
It is that which the Count of La Mar-
che Trevisane boasts of so much, & cites
so often, calling it the Code of
all truth. The second Treatise is
the Abandoned Word, attributed to
the same Bernard Trevisan, according to
those who wish to reserve for them-
selves still some manuscript copies
that bear his name.
The third & last book,
newly brought to light, is
the Philosophical Work of Cor-
