is too high or too low for it. Every thing has a terram earth, sal salt, that is, a corpus body, mercurium mercury, that is, a spirit, and sulphur sulfur, that is, an animam soul: But that they should accomplish such for you without our materiam matter, that will never happen. Rather, with the help of the Philosophical Stone or medicine, you can obtain something fruitful in many of your works and the art of alchymey alchemy, as you will discover in truth, if you recognize the right matter and know how to deal with it: Experience teaches you yourself, and reveals it to you.
Therefore, tell me now, from what was the first man, Adam, created or made? From nothing else but a piece of red earth, called JAH God, that is, Δ fire, it is. Why do you deem yourself so high and strong, as if you surpass all creatures and natures in the world? It is true, you are noble and well-endowed, but if you recognized yourself and your nature, [and] rightly used your reason, understanding, and the five senses, you would find that God the Almighty has placed you above his creatures and between heaven and earth. The earth is subject to you, and power has been given to you to rule over such, to govern, and to use everything therein for your benefit and pleasure, yes, even how you might finally reach a fellow
companion and the eternal glory, which is prepared for you by God. Therefore, learn to know yourself and recognize your creature, then you will find the hidden mysteries of nature and the hidden treasures of alchemy, which lie hidden in the earth, and bring them into your power. For nature is such a mistress that she leaves nothing hidden that she does not reveal through the art of alchemy and through the help of the Philosophical Stone or the right matters, if one only understands the right way and manner of how one should deal with her, and in truth, as it is described by the old philosophers and left behind in their writings, knows how to use it rightly, and persists in the work in the fear of God, and in silence, without all vanity and without all pride, with diligence and patience, then she will finally reveal to you what you desire and what you seek, and give [it] into your hands, and make you happy in your art and in your undertaking.
