You must also know and recognize the difference between all creatures and natures, how one surpasses another in beauty, loveliness, friendliness, ingenuity, and skillful power, might and strength, taste, smell, force, virtue, and customs, because of the unspeakable, effective nature of this Philosophical Stone. Thus, this our old, unique matter also surpasses everything in its effect. Therefore, it is considered the highest, but because it is so poor to behold, those who are coarse and ignorant and do not wish to recognize its nature leave it hidden, despised, and rejected, etc.
