I will destroy the power of the
kings of the nations; and I will over-

my servant, says the Lord; and I will
make you like a signet ring; because
I have chosen you, says the Lord Al-

This text concludes the Book of Haggai 2:22-23, where God promises to establish Zerubbabel as a chosen leader.
A Byzantine style miniature depicts the Prophet Zechariah. He is shown as an elderly man with white hair and a long beard, dressed in a green tunic and blue mantle. He walks toward the right, holding an open scroll in his left hand and gesturing with his right. He is flanked by two stylized, dark colored trees on rocky outcrops. Red Greek lettering above him identifies him as "THE PROPHET ZECHARIAH."
The Roman numeral 11 corresponds to the Greek letters Iota-Alpha (ΙΑ), marking this as the eleventh book among the Minor Prophets in this collection.
An ornate decorative initial 'E' is rendered in gold and red ink with interlaced foliate patterns.
