called the Prior, the 2nd Decanus; and Schoenberg, one of our most zealous brothers before he gave himself over to Pietism, was Chancellor, and after the death of both Schmids, he held the dignity of a Prior for several years. Many were accepted, and these gradually received the dignities of the Provincial Charges.
In the year 1754, the VII Province consisted of about 20 Frl. likely "Freemasons" and 24 J. O. likely "Junior Order" brothers. In the same year, at Unwürde, a place in Upper Lusatia that then belonged to the High Throne referring to the central authority of the Order, an orderly Convent was held which lasted 6 weeks, and the High Throne covered the costs of this largely from its own means. Work was done very diligently here, and the VII Province was given its complete Law. Although I myself could not take part in the matter and Order, I did, however, receive the acquaintance of the High Throne right around this time, who kept me with him in the last 2 weeks of this continuing Convent, after I had been determined in a S. L. likely "Scottish Lodge" from among these worthy men, Dr. Gleichnach. It should also be expressed what intentions my brothers had, whether I could form other or higher concepts upon my entry into the Order, as I saw a society of the worthiest men who, especially because of their integrity, deserved the respect of all who knew them, occupying themselves with striving for the welfare of the Order and leading them to be much more together.
In the year 1755, at Dresden, an old Freemason lodge square symbol in text was reformed, which was brought into order by these High Brother Masters themselves. Therefore, a lodge was fixed in Jena and Leipzig, which was to be held in the winter of this year. However, during this time, the Seven Years' War broke out. The members of the Province departed and were scattered throughout all of Europe, so that all Order work had to be halted.
Our distinguished Lord Brother Master had entered into Prussian service as Chamberlain and Prussian council service in 1753, and in the year 1758 was unanimously elected by his estates to the Landscape refers to the provincial assembly or parliament of the estates. This function, as well as the military campaigns in which he distinguished himself several times during this war for his most gracious King and Lord, compelled him to always be at his post, so that he could hardly stay in one place for a day. All this, and since the Order's Chancery Noble circumstance was scattered, prevented anything from being done in his favorite business during this whole war.
I would have almost forgotten to mention that in the year 1754 he allowed the Order of St. Anne to be bestowed upon him in order to be able to hide his efforts under the glory of this order. You, my brothers, will please admire herewith how eager he was to keep the Order in mind in all his actions.
