This 6th stage of the Royal Art is the worldly or knightly reward for those honorable Masons, and as the Highest grants him the spiritual dignity of a Levite, so they are chosen and dubbed as knights in this degree.

The Lodge represents the great Order Chapter and the hall in the palace of King Cyrus. The King himself is the Grand Master, who sits upon a precious throne, all remaining brothers, except for almost other officers of the Lodge, divide among themselves the order-duties, as the same are customary with every knighthood. The entire proceeding is majestic, and since an old Scottish Supreme Master receives the dignity with all spiritual and silent pomp as the highest dignity in the spiritual realm; so in this one they will become equal to the highest heads of the earth, even emperors, kings, and potentates.
