This is how it is written, and such is its judgment. Also, they are in a great pause, and soon He will come, and their days shall say Amen. And likewise in "The lamp is a commandment, and the Torah is a light" referencing Proverbs 6:23. For "a lamp of commandment" is? 26? a reference to the numerical value of the Tetragrammaton and? light; this is truly said, and it is fitting to place it upon the menorah made in the Tabernacle. It too was of gold, and they shall be together, matching. And now the menorah comes to awaken the soul of man, for it shines opposite the menorah on high. And behold, the intention of this menorah is to awaken the soul of man so that it may cleave to the Shekhinah Divine Presence. This is the path in which the righteous shall walk, for whom the menorah shines before them. Its intention is a secret, deep and broad, for the menorah is the secret of the Malkhut Kingdom/the tenth Sefirah. A man must be careful in the service of this menorah. And thus the sages of blessed memory said, etc. And here is hinted the great secret of the Malkhut Kingdom, which is like a "lamp of commandment, and the Torah is a light" that illuminates all the worlds. In this secret, a man shall understand that the soul is a part of God from above, and it is fitting for him to purify it and raise it up to the root of the supreme source that illuminates all lights. Therefore, souls are compared to menorahs, for they burn from the light of the first, supreme source, and they have nothing of their own except what they receive from the supreme light. And just as the menorah needs oil and a wick, so the soul needs Torah and commandments in order to light the light that dwells within it. And this is the secret of the verse: "The lamp of the Lord is the soul of man, searching all the inward parts" Proverbs 20:27. And also this menorah is the secret of the Shekhinah Divine Presence that dwells with us.
