The sign of the Scottish Master is much more expressive than that of Master Masons of other orders, because it marks a greater ecstasy. The rope with which you were introduced is an emblem of the one that Hiram's murderers attached to his neck to drag him ignominiously out of the Temple. It is therefore in Scotland, my brothers, that the Lodges of Saint Andrew were established, and it is to the worthy and very respectable Scottish knights that the order owes this establishment. These are, my brothers, in a few words, the events concerning the eras that gave rise to the establishment of this respectable order and the recovery of the true word of the Master. It only remains for me to give you a short explanation of our Table, to which I ask you to bring all your attention.
After the explanation of the Table, the Very Respectable has the candidate kneel on the cross of St. Andrew, his face turned toward the East, and says to him: "My brother, to show you how much this just, perfect, and respectable Lodge esteems you, and the joy it feels to have acquired today a brother of your kind, it will demonstrate this to you through my efforts by creating you, by my consent, a Knight of our very respectable Scottish order of Saint Andrew, with 4 knocks. The 1st is for the Grand A... Architect of the universe. The second is for the patron of the order. The 3rd is for the Grand Master. The fourth is for me and all the Lodge."
The Very Respectable decorates the new knight with the Cordon and the jewel. He embraces him while congratulating him. All the brothers do the same.
The Very Respectable closes the Lodge.
N.B. that to close, it is past Midnight.
