Behind the Candidate are all the brothers who come to listen and who stand.

When the Bachelor's thesis is supported, one moves into the second hall, where there is a table like the previous one, furnished with 3 writing desks.
In addition, a small urn with two vases, one with peas and the other with beans.
The peas are for exclusion if two-thirds are cast. If there is only one-third, it is to postpone for 3 months.
The beans are for admission.

To proceed to the ballot

The last bachelor of each line enters the 2nd hall in full view of the ballot and immediately places all the Bachelors according to his rank. Then the Licentiates, the debaters, the doctors, the sub-dean, the dean, and the president.

When everyone has taken their place, the president counts the voters and verifies the ballot to have the results; then he separates the beans from the peas and announces the admission, the postponement for 3 months, or the exclusion.

Starting from the right foot, an apprentice step, a companion step starting from the left foot, and a master step starting from the right foot to mark that this grade is the first of the Doctorate and the first of masonry requiring 3 steps, but as one must be a Master to present oneself, one proves it by the 3 steps.
Likewise, the word is composed of 3 letters.

When the candidate is admitted, one has him enter with doors open, one crowns him, and one puts the black chauffe hood/cap on him; then one closes the doors, he takes his oath on his knees, and one tells him the word which is

The sign is to place the right hand flat on the left shoulder, thumb against the collar, which represents the chauffe hood.

License

One then returns to the first hall and in the same order.
The new Bachelor places himself, etc., in front of the president to support his License based on his thesis.
One moves from there into the second hall in the same order as the first time. One proceeds to the ballot, and if he is admitted, one has him enter and one puts the crown and the Licentiate's chauffe hood on him. Then one closes the doors and one gives him the word

The sign is to place the hand on the head, making it take the shape of a dome to signify a square cap.
