The Grand Commander strikes three equal blows which are repeated
by the Wardens; Then having had it confirmed if all the officers are Knights
he says:
Note 5. If the alliance were no longer an alone venerable one and this alliance were of the mood like this, the knights would have had the 3 times 3 blows sound, but it is not so.
Q. 1st. Sublime Knight, 1st Warden: On what point does our duty extend?
A. To fight the infidels who inhabit the Holy Land; to defeat them or to die.
Q. 2 What will be the price of our labors?
A. A part of this land which will be given to us to build a temple to the Lord.
Q. 3 Who led you to have yourself received Knight of the triple cross?
A. The example given to me by my ancestors, also famous crusaders from whom we descend.
Q. 4 What subject brings you together in this Council?
A. A Knight Mason + who desires to contract our engagements; receive the triple cross
and we pray where we will lead him S? to repel the enemies of the faith.
The Candidate must address the Grand Commander and the 1st and 2nd
Wardens for his reception.
Note 6. In a grade that found resonance with the authorities only a few years ago, in which one was not so punctual about the Triple Cross, as they nevertheless loudly claimed, it would be necessary to hold that I confess, more for the local one than to grasp for the bad part on this side, that one, that the faith for which we should fight was no longer determined, so as it is clear from this excerpt, that therefore the unrest the gates of those grades so loudly the areas, which the one lying before us lays out without many disputes, must therewith be sworn.
Note 7: Immediately these events would stretch the bow too clearly and carry it publicly, yes, that shackled that. It is already bad enough that the closed doors are opened to vanity, for the saddened brothers do not think that one has shown them the supply without forms.
Note 8: Hopefully such judgment as vigorous zeal, unproven that it is not one, can indeed be evaluated by a sovereign, which does not allow their understanding to publicly carry lies. As a sign of reward, the benefit of which one does not know or to weapons, such indeed are unknown, but build, renew... note 9. and as a warning, that we are purified constantly to carry. One sees well that those of the days of the division did not favor the horizon for the knights so brightly. It was thus the talk of misfortune, of disaster and of the steps which they preserve; if one held to the customs as through steps and steps out, so one could well see the true meaning of this speech before us.
The Grand Commander says:
Sublime Knights, the Knight of M + N..... has addressed himself to me and
to the Sublime Wardens to contract our engagements and receive our triple
cross. I believe him very worthy, as well as... do you have nothing
to reproach him for?
The candidate must have 3/4 of the votes for him, otherwise his reception is postponed. If it is the same at the 2nd council, he will not be received; he will be warned that his reception cannot take place.
Then he will address himself to the Wardens and to the Commander to justify himself.
The Knights will wear a celestial blue sash worn over the shoulder, very light, on which there will be near the shoulder a red cross, a blue one in the middle of the body and a green one at the end.
At the bottom of this sash will be a black rosette from which will hang the jewel which is composed of three crosses placed in a triangle.
The Grand Commander, the Wardens and the Master of Ceremonies
wear a red cross on the right shoulder; the Knights of the South wear a white one and those of the North wear a green one. They only put it on in the Council hall. Note 7.
For the sash, they wear it in all the lodges. In the Knight's [degree], at the Council they must be booted and spurred.
The Grand Commander sends the Grand Equerry to the Candidate;
The latter has him decorated as a Knight Mason +; gives him a speech
on this latter degree and on this one, to know if he will have enough
strength to drive the infidels from the Holy Land, or to destroy those
that inhabit it; then he leads him to the door of the Council
where he strikes three equal blows. They will answer
from within as usual: It is a Knight M + who wants
to take his final engagements. The Grand Commander has him asked
if he is well resolved on everything that can be required
of him; he answers: Yes.
