Note 10. As is explained here for the triple cross three-part cross, this question may well be held as correct. However, if it was truly intended that way, the recipient candidate could not be expressed more clearly, provided that one did not wish for him to be the thing itself. Then Addition I.
The Grand Commander then orders the candidate to be brought in and says to him:
Note 11. As is also the case with other rituals, could no "journey" question occur? Can the answer to this question only be given indirectly if one does not wish to name the word?
He answers: Yes.
The Grand Commander continues: (see at the end).
The Grand Commander says to him:
"Put down your sword, come and kneel before the T.C. original: "le T.C." that you see here the altar and take your oath before it."
The Brothers lead him to the altar; they stand, one on his right and the other on his left, and the Grand Equerry behind. While kneeling, he raises the hand that holds the sword and takes the oath, then the other knights have their hats and swords in hand.?
Great God! Savior and Redeemer of the World, I swear to you to follow my brothers wherever they go to work for your glory; I will perish with them rather than fail to contribute to the execution of their projects; I will join my arms to those of my brothers to avenge you of the infidels who have been insulting you for so long, I against force respond to our ardor the Holy Places. Note 13/ we will restore your holy law in a place where you once reigned Note 14/. I promise to incur all the scourges of Heaven rather than reveal this grade to anyone whomsoever. Note 15/ Deign to give us yours and the graces of which we have need for such a holy enterprise. Amen.
...where you once reigned, etc. This does not mean the spirit of the question of the Knights governing and ruling on Earth. Note 13. The place which was earlier described by the fathers with other sayings as the sole blessed dwelling place. If it is said here: "We wish to liberate," then it is clear that we are in the place of false doctrines, where truth was preached with power, but now it is false due to heresies. "all the scourges," etc. etc.
During the oath, all the brothers have their swords in their hands and their hats lowered. Once the oath is taken, they all shout: D. L. V. original: "D. L. V. (Dieu le veut)"
The Grand Commander takes the candidate’s sword, strikes his shoulder three times with it, beginning with the right namely, by the left and the third by the right Note 19/, then returns it to him and says:
"Use this sword only to defend the law of your God."
He takes a green cross and attaches it to his right shoulder, saying to him:
Note 19. These blows on the right and then on the left shoulder seem incorrect, as the Grand Commander himself cries out here like a skilled swordsman; otherwise, he could have used his own sword, or the Order's sword, as is customary in other knightly orders.
Note 20. According to the insignia of the grade, there are other Illuminati enlightened ones parts; there is more of this in 3 degrees. The "covering" used here is meant to signify the "covering knighthood." It is understood why the insignia indicate that only those in power may command the knights to follow their leaders on land and sea as soon as they indicate the sign.
"By the power that I possess, I institute you Knight of the Triple Cross Note 20/ and of Palestine—this cross must serve to have you recognized in your works."
He adds:
"Here is a sash from which hangs a jewel that marks our publicity. I am going to explain the our points of this grade, passed to the North."
Then all the brothers return their swords to their sheaths and ensure silence for the recounting of the history.
Note 21. This must now be correct regarding what in 1080 Soliman's sayings were intended to be spread into the pride of the Turks from Asia. Note 22. The numbers 388-389 are not here, but higher up. Note 22. This narrative surely has the crusade as its cause, but one is already accustomed to such narratives being allegorical. Its causes, and only by means of a fine compass, the sayings, we build the doctrines of the kingdom, up to 3 parts; in whose bosom, after a dark part of creation, it sees the wonders and always will, so it has the age of knowledge and faith, which is meant here, and to make this sentence firm, which, however, also help so unhappily here, as we have seen in 11 and 12.
In 1080, Soliman, Prince of the Turks, established at Nicaea, a city of Bithynia in Asia Minor, the seat of his Empire, or rather his tyranny, for which Asia 21/ Syria and Palestine 22/ groaned under oppression, and Jerusalem in particular. Among a great number of pilgrims who were visiting the holy places of Palestine at that time, a Frenchman from Amiens in Picardy, named Peter the Hermit, made the journey to Jerusalem in 1093; he conferred there with Patriarch Simeon, offering to carry letters to the Pope and to all the Princes of the West to excite them to drive all this barbaric and infidel nation from the Holy Land. This good patriarch accepted his offer and gave Peter the Hermit all the dispatches he had requested. Peter the Hermit embarked without delay and went to the Pope’s Court, where he presented the letters of the Patriarch of Jerusalem to Urban II, who sent him into all the provinces on this and the other side of the Alps to treat with the Princes and publicly preach the Crusade. All those who learned of the Pope’s design showed all possible eagerness for this holy enterprise 24/; but Urban judged it appropriate to hold a Council, which he presided over himself. During the council held in November 1095, he gave a speech in a large square of the city and animated the whole assembly so much that all cried out together, as if by agreement: D. L. V.
