to be fooled by his own foolish error original: "Beccarsi i getti", literally to be pecked by the waste or to be tricked.
But the wretch does not notice such a great loss,
nor that he has blown his bellows in vain,
until both his property and his brain at the same time
have gone up the chimney of his furnace.

Blow, children, I beg you,
into every kind of metal:
since the end of Alchemy Alchemie
is the road to the hospital the poorhouse.
